Curt Clemens was a Swedish artist who gained attention in the country's art scene during the 1940s. He was known for his mood painting and color visionary style, often depicting melancholic emotional states. His works are represented in several leading museums, including the Moderna Museet's collection which contains 35 of his works. Curt Clemens' solo exhibition at the Swedish French Art Gallery in 1942 charged an entrance fee of SEK 1 per visitor due to the fear of a great deal of public interest. The actor Hasse Ekman and his wife Agneta were among Stockholm's most interested in art in the 1940s and were both dedicated collectors of Curt Clemens' painting
